Install in one drag
- Download the signed DMG.
- Open the mounted disk image.
- Drag SwiftPen into Applications.
- Launch from Applications for the best update experience.
If macOS says the app was opened from a disk image or a translocated path, move it into Applications first. That keeps updates and permissions reliable.
Automatic updates
- Sparkle checks for updates in the background.
- Use Check for Updates... from the app menu.
- The appcast is hosted on the same website for a simple HTTPS update flow.
- If an update cannot proceed, SwiftPen shows a clear prompt to move the app into Applications.

Sparkle uses the signed update archive for direct app updates after the first install.

The appcast tells Sparkle which update is current and which signed archive to fetch over HTTPS.
